Announcment: Next Monthly Meeting
When: February 21, 2008 Please come and welcome our February speaker Mr. Paul Dowdican

Mr. Paul Dowdican is employed with Stress Engineering Services. Paul graduated as BSME Mechanical Engineer from Oklahoma State University in 1986. Paul’s forte is in rotating equipment vibration and maintenance, vibrating pipe analysis and mitigation, strain analysis, finite element stress analysis, mechanical design including AISC, autofrettage prestressing design, Roto-dynamics and acoustical analysis. He is member of the Vibration Institute. Paul is Professional Engineer licensed in the state of Texas, and is Certified Vibration Institute Category IV.

Abstract: Rotating Equipment Condition Monitoring Program

Rotating equipment condition based monitoring (CBM) is recognized as the premier maintenance strategy in industry today. Although reactive (run-to-failure) and periodic (preventative) maintenance techniques still have a place, conditioned based maintenance efforts utilizing vibration, lubrication, and alignment technologies are becoming the industry standard. This presentation details what it takes to have a CBM program and gives insight how it may tailored to your company’s equipment needs and staffing level. The goal of the presentation is to inspire the non-CBM company to start a program with in-house or contract personnel and improve the already existing CBM program.
