CBVRG Annual Seminar

The Coastal Bend Vibration and Reliability Group in conjunction with the Coastal Bends Pump User Association is conducting a one-day seminar on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Bayfront Plaza formerly the Ramada 601 N. Water Street, Corpus Christi , Texas . This course is aimed toward persons Responsible for Equipment Reliability, Predictive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring and/or Vibration Analysis. This may include people From Maintenance, Engineering, and Management this one-day course will be presented in two sections.

The First half will be on what makes a pump an API 610 Pump This will be presented by Mr. Ron Adams of Sulzer Pumps Mr. Adams earned a BS MET from Southern Polytechnic Institute and did graduate work at Georgia State University .  His work history includes 2 years as a project engineer at a wire company, followed by 19 years in various sales and marketing assignments with Ingersoll Rand - including 3 years as marketing and sales manager of IR Waterjet cutting Systems. He joined Sulzer Pumps in 1991 and has held a variety of positions including Central Regional Sales Manager, Strategic Alliance Manager, and now Global Portfolio Manager.

The Second half will be on Sleeve bearings.  This will be presented by Mr. Troy Broussard of Cascade Analytic LLC.Mr. Broussard is a Consultant/Sales for all reliability based maintenance initiatives for rotating and reciprocating machinery .A graduate of Lamar University with 18 years experience in reliability and condition assessment monitoring field. Mr. Broussard has spent 9 years with 2 of the largest reliability monitoring equipment manufacturers in the U.S. and 4 years of in plant experience where he was an integral member of the reliability monitoring team for the largest refinery in the U.S.  

The Vibration Institute is a not-for-profit Organization dedicated to the exchange of Practical vibration information on machines and structures. The scope of the Institute’s Activities also includes non-intrusive Condition Monitoring technologies. The Institute, which was established in 1972, has more than 3,000 Members, 37 chapters, and a technology Division- the Society for Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT).

About CBVRG

The Coastal Bend Vibration and Reliability Group is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the knowledge sharing of reliability strategies focusing  on all aspects of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of machinery. 

CBVRG chapter was formed in 1992, and is located in Corpus Christi, Texas.  And is joined by the Coastal Bend Pump User Group in 2006. The conjuntive group comprises more than 100 members of which 19 are certified members of the vibration institute.

If you are in the area come join us at one of our monthly meetings.  Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month from September thru May with the exception of December.  Consult the schedule for updates and special events.  Everyone is invited, and membership is not a requirment.
